The team will be competing on Saturday, Nov. 4 at the qualifying tournament taking place at Eastlake High School. They will spend the entire day at the High School. From 8:00 A.M. to 12:00, teams present their research project, participate in a Core Values test and present their Robot designs. Those three areas are not open to the public.
The Robot Game Rounds, where you will see the robot they designed and built along with its motorized attachments perform in the mission challenge is open to the public. The opening and closing ceremonies are also open to the public.
The Opening Ceremonies take place in the Eastlake H.S. Gym from 12:00 to 12:40. During the opening ceremonies, they introduce the Scientists and engineers judging the competition along with the teams participating.
The robot games begin right after opening ceremonies and continue until 3:50. The team will participate in three different rounds. The round with the best score is used to determine the team’s placement in this portion of the overall competition. We will post our time slots as soon as they are released. It’s fun to watch all the teams in the competition because you will get to see the diverse robot designs and the different paths the programmers selected when they programmed their robots to perform the missions.
Our Robo Griffins will be running their robot at the following times:
12:50 on Table 1, 1:50 on Table 3, and at 2:50 on Table 2.
The Closing Ceremonies take place at 4:30 in the Gym. Teams will find out if they are among the top 25% and if so, will move on to the Big Show at Lego Land on either Dec 3rd or Dec 4th. There are 24 teams participating, which means we need to place in the top 6.
